Revolution vs. Red Bulls: Desert Diamond Cup 2013 Live Stream and Open Thread

The New England Revolution will continue their Desert Diamond Cup campaign on Saturday night with a friendly against the New York Red Bulls. After Wednesday's brutal affair, head coach Jay Heaps will probably be praying just that his players come through in one piece.

It's time for the New England Revolution to play their second Desert Diamond Cup match, this time against their old rivals the New York Red Bulls. This match, like the last, will be about getting the squad into game shape, as well as vetting the four unsigned players in camp. Of course, the hope is that the Red Bulls will focus on the game and not the rough stuff, which the Sounders apparently couldn't do on Wednesday.

Jay Heaps should be taking a long look at the rookies in camp, but he may also be very excited to see what Marko Jesic can do in his second preseason match. Jesic did a lot of good things in his preseason debut on Wednesday, though he appeared to be lacking in the final product. If he can get on the scoreboard against New York, it isn't unreasonable to think that he'll have earned himself a contract.

One more interesting tidbit: here is a list of the players unavailable for tonight's match. Wednesday's carnage remains evident: Kevin Alston (injury), Chad Barrett (illness), Ryan Guy (injury), Sainey Nyassi (suspension), Saer Sene (injury), Chris Tierney (injury).
