Parity by design. The final day of the 2013 Major League Season has supporters of several clubs cringing, hoping and praying for a ticket to the MLS Cup Playoffs. We don't care about them. Here are the New England Revolution's updated playoff scenarios following yesterday's pro-Revolution results.

Saturday Results Go in Revs Favor

Sporting KC beats Philadelphia Union 2-1.

This result ensures covers us in the event that the Revs and Houston both lose or both tie. In that case we'd remain in 5th.

Montreal Impact lose to Toronto FC 1-0.

This result will help the Revs in the event of a win in Columbus and depending on Chicago's result, could help us climb as high as 3rd place.

So the Revs enter today with the ability to finish in 3rd place if the Chicago Fire lose and the Revs take all three points in Columbus. Or, they could drop to 6th place -- out of the playoffs -- with a loss in Columbus and if Houston wins.
