There are indicators that Diego Fagundez could soon be heading to Austin FC.
The rumor stems from Fagundez’s father and agent, Washington, recently following multiple accounts associated with Austin FC. Washington has followed the club’s official account and the accounts of its president Andy Loughnane and part-owner Matthew McConaughey.
Washington hinted that news was on the horizon Tuesday morning when he sent a picture with a caption that translates to “Here we are, it will become official.” Later that evening, his son tweeted, “Excited for what's coming soon.”

Washington would later send a tweet that translates to “How will 95 South be by the end of the year?” This does put the Austin rumor into question, though it’s worth noting that there’s a Texas State Highway 95.
Regardless, it certainly seems like we’ll soon learn Fagundez’s fate. The midfielder is still just 25 years old and has plenty of soccer left in him. The Homegrown product played his first ten MLS seasons with the New England Revolution and it seems he could soon be playing elsewhere.
What do you think of this development? Do you think Fagundez will land in Austin or will he head elsewhere?
