The New England Revolution are still planning to add two players that are above the max salary, according to club president Brian Bilello.

On Friday, Bilello tweeted that the Revs are working on “a number of possibilities” in regards to adding to the team. The targets being looked at are above the max salary, with at least one expected to be a Designated Player. Bilello noted that fans could get some news “fairly soon.”

Bilello’s comments matches what he said in December, which is when he stated that the Revs would add “3-4 above max salary players.” Soon after, the club added Juan Fernando Caiciedo on loan from Colombian side Independiente Medellin. The striker will either be a TAM player or DP depending on how the roster is built.

The Revs have been linked to some big names this off-season, including Paul-José M’Poku, Bojan Krkic, and Carles Gil. So far no one has been able to verify the legitimacy of any of those rumors.
