The New England Revolution could sign another player in the next 24-48 hours, according to head coach Brad Friedel.

Speaking to local media on Tuesday, Friedel said he’s looking to add “one, maybe two” players to help during the second half of the season. Although he didn’t go into much detail about the players in question, he did say that additional news regarding at least one of these individuals could surface soon.

“Hopefully in the next 24-48 hours we’ll have another agreement in place,” Friedel said.

Of course, nothing is guaranteed yet. Negotiations can be tough and a deal doesn’t become official until pen hits paper. If it doesn’t work out with the players they’re currently eyeing, Friedel and his staff are ready to find alternatives.

“If we don’t [get a deal done] then we’ll just keep working,” Friedel explained. “We have an excellent array of scouts around the globe. We have a lot of contacts around the globe.”

Through it all, Friedel is confident that reinforcements are on the way. The organization has been “working tirelessly” to supplement the roster and he believes that at least one move will come to fruition.

“There’s no doubt that we’ll be bringing in at least another face,” Friedel said. “The exact time? I don’t know but we’re working hard on it.”
