Revolution announce roster cuts ahead of 2019

The New England Revolution’s roster currently has 19 players as the club looks to build for 2019.

On Monday, the Revs announced that they had exercised contract options for 15 players. Additionally, four players were already under contract for next year.

The following players had their options picked up: goalkeepers Cody Cropper, Brad Knighton, and Matt Turner, defenders Jalil Anibaba, Brandon Bye, Antonio Delamea, and Andrew Farrell, midfielders Luis Caicedo, Scott Caldwell, Diego Fagundez, Zachary Herivaux, Cristian Penilla, and Kelyn Rowe, and forwards Teal Bunbury and Brian Wright.

Defenders Michael Mancienne and Gabriel Somi, as well as midfielders Isaac Angking Wilfried Zahibo were already under contract for 2019.

The club declined options for defenders Claude Dielna and Nicolas Samayoa, midfielders Guillermo Hauché, Cristhian Machado, and Mark Segbers, and forward Femi Hollinger-Janzen.

Forward Juan Agudelo and defender Chris Tierney will be out of contract on Dec. 31, 2018. Tierney is eligible for free agency when it begins on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 3:00 p.m. ET. The Revs have until Tuesday, Nov. 20 to make bona fide offers to any out-of-contract players eligible for the re-entry draft.

The roster moves leave the Revolution with three open international slots.
