Heaps says Revs have “scoured” for new additions

All signs point to the Revs making additions during the summer transfer window.

The New England Revolution are actively looking for additions, according to head coach Jay Heaps.

The Revs entered the two-week Gold Cup break on a down note, losing 3-2 to the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday night. More concerning is the fact that the team sits tenth place in the Eastern Conference with 20 points. With only 15 games left, the Revs need to start collecting points if they want to avoid missing the playoffs for the second straight year.

The answer could come in the form of transfers. Club president Brian Bilello recently said the team might bring in a couple of “higher-end roster guys.” On Wednesday, Heaps confirmed that the team has been scouting.

“We’ve scoured and we’ve got to fill in and continue to try and find the right players that are going to fit for us and spend a lot of time doing it,” Heaps said.

The summer transfer window opens on July 10.
