The New England Revolution have signed 25-year-old defender Antonio Mlinar, according to Taylor Twellman.

Mlinar most recently played with Olimpija Ljubljana of Slovenia. In 2015, he suffered a knee injury, but recovered fully to become a regular in the Olimpija’s starting XI. The 6’ center back also served as the club’s captain.

Mlinar’s play earned him a call up to the Slovenia National Team in November 2016. His debut came in a friendly against Poland on November 14 when he replaced Miral Samardzic at halftime. The game ultimately ended 1-1.

Earlier this week, Revolution President Brian Bilello stated that the team signed two international center backs. The moves were necessary, especially in light of Jose Goncalves being out of contract and unlikely to re-sign.

With Milnar heavily rumored to be one signing, there’s still another that remains unknown. Bilello did hint, however, that both players could be revealed by the end of the week.
