The wait is over. After more than six weeks of off-season silence, the Revolution have agreed to terms with an international center back.

And at this point, that’s all Revolution fans know.

Club president Brian Bilello communicated only the basic details of the transaction in this Monday-morning tweet:

In addition to noting the player’s position and international status, Bilello included what supporters had long expected: the player was acquired using Targeted Allocation Money (TAM). On January 16, Taylor Twellman reported that Bilello & Co. were in discussions with a pair of center backs who would both be signed using TAM.

Though details of the signing remain largely unknown—few rumors have surfaced since the Twellman tweet—Bilello hinted that his staff would reveal the player later this week.

If all goes according to plan, Bilello will have a second center back to reveal in the not-so-distant future.

Stay tuned for updates on the mystery signing as more information becomes available.
