New England Revolution midfielder/forward Michael Gamble has been loaned to the Rochester Rhinos, according to a team release. The short-term loan will allow Gamble to compete against New York Red Bulls II on Sunday, April 17.

Gamble, 22, was a second-round selection in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft (30th overall) and signed with the Revs on March 3, 2016 after a successful trial. The Wake Forest graduate has yet to make a regular-season appearance, though he did appear in all four of the Revolution's Desert Diamond Cup games, scoring one goal.

Gamble is the third Revolution player to spend time with the Rhinos, as Donnie Smith played for the club on April 2 and Jordan McCrary was with them on April 9. The Rhinos are 1-1-0 this season with one goal scored and one allowed.

After Sunday's game, Gamble is expected to return to Foxborough to continue to train with the Revolution.
