Kei Kamara would be “excited“ to play for the Impact, according to Dom Oduro

Could Kei Kamara move north of the border.

Kei Kamara has interest in playing for the Montral Impact, according to Dom Oduro.

During a media availability held after the Impact were knocked out of the playoffs, Oduro claimed that he recently spoke to Kamara, a close friend. In a comment that’s probably more lighthearted than not, Oduro said Kamara would be excited to move north.

Both drafted in 2006, Oduro and Kamara have been long-time friends despite only playing on the same team in 2009. The two are so close that Oduro was the best man at Kamara’s wedding.

So, does that mean the they’re inline for a reunion? Don’t count on it.

The New England Revolution traded a lot to get Kamara and it would be a bit foolish to get rid of him after half a season. The striker was just rounding into form once the team switched to a 4-4-2 and paired him with Juan Agudelo. The partnership has a lot of potential and should be given more time.

That said, if the Impact make a substantial offer, the Revs front office should listen, especially if head coach Jay Heaps is thinking about reintroducing the 4-1-4-1.

For now, take this comment as nothing more than a grain of salt.
