Revolution coaches return from first off-season scouting trip

The Revs coaching staff are looking for reinforcements.

It didn’t take long for the New England Revolution coaching staff to get to work, as they've recently returned from a scouting trip, according to club president Brian Bilello.

"Coaches just came back from their first off-season scouting trip so we're already active there," Bilello said during an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit.

The Revs entered their final game of the season with a slim chance at making the playoffs. Although they defeated the Montreal Impact 3-0, they failed to erase a 12-goal deficit against the Philadelphia Union, which denied them the opportunity to play soccer in November.

With an early end to the 2016 season, the coaching staff went to work looking for reinforcements. Bilello declined to name any targeted positions but did say that the team has the capacity to bring in a player using Targeted Allocation Money.

"A number of positions on the field we will be looking to upgrade with room to add TAM type players ($500K-$1.5M)," Bilello said. "[I would] rather not be specific on positions as we don't finalize player option decisions until the end of the month."
