Revolution coach Jay Heaps was scouting in Turkey

Could the Revs find reinforcements in Turkey?

It's been an active off-season for New England Revolution head coach Jay Heaps, who was recently in Turkey as part of a scouting trip.

News of the trip first broke on Reddit when someone posted that they had seen Heaps in the International Terminal at Logan. The poster claimed that Heaps told him that he was heading to Turkey to see a center back. A Revs representative has since confirmed to The Bent Musket that Heaps was in Turkey, though they didn't comment on who he may be scouting.

Earlier this month, Revs president Brian Bilello stated that the coaching staff had just returned from their first off-season expedition. Bilello didn't say what positions they were looking to fill, but did say the club has some roster flexibility.

"A number of positions on the field we will be looking to upgrade with room to add TAM type players ($500K-$1.5M)," Bilello said. "[I would] rather not be specific on positions as we don't finalize player option decisions until the end of the month.
