Revolution Transfers 2016: New England to add an International

Another signing!

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

When it rains, it pours.

One day after announcing that the New England Revolution signed a Designated Player, club president Brian Bilello stated that the team will add an international. Bilello didn't reveal any additional details about the player, though he did tease that more information would be available later this week.

The announcement completes a busy 24 hours for the Revolution, who hadn't made an off-season acquisition until recently. Although the team locked up Chris Tierney and Diego Fagundez, both key players, there remained gaps along the back line and in the midfield. Time will tell if these needs were addressed with the recent signings.

Heading into this week, the Revs had 19 of 28 roster spots filled. This number will grow to 21 once the new signings become official. The Revolution are set to open preseason camp on Friday, Jan. 22.
