Transfer Deadline Won't End Revolution's Pursuit of Players

According to club president Brian Bilello, the Revs could add players after today's deadline.

The summer transfer window closes today, but that won't end the New England Revolution's pursuit to add new players.

While addressing fans on Twitter, club president Brian Bilello confirmed that the team has targets and that most of these individuals could be signed after today's deadline.

This might be a confusing statement since the transfer window closes today. However, free agents can be added up until the roster freeze on Sept. 16. Today's deadline only applies to transfers and trades.

The Revolution have recently been linked to defenders Will Packwood, Alexander Madlung, and Zak Whitbread. All of these players are free agents, which gives the Revs flexibility in terms of putting pen to paper.

Obviously sooner is better when it comes to adding players. That said, the Revs have a light schedule ahead as the month of August includes two bye weeks. This extra time off would help any potential addition(s) adjust to the team.
