Much has been made about the New England Revolution's need to sign defensive depth, and the Will Packwood solution could be gaining more steam.
The 22-year-old defender was a full participant in Wednesday's training session at Gillette Stadium, lining up in defense in various drills.

Most notably, Packwood partnered with Jose Goncalves for an extended period of time and seemed comfortable handling the likes of Charlie Davies and Juan Agudelo.
To what extent the Concord, Mass. native could stick around remains to be seen, however. Since departing from Birmingham City in England, Packwood has bounced around Major League Soccer in various training stints.
He's spent time with the Chicago Fire and New York Red Bulls, but was unable to remain with either side.
Irrespective of that, Packwood fills a need for the Revolution, but the level of interest from both parties remains unclear.
