Midfielder Marvin Ceballos will train with the New England Revolution this week as confirmed to The Bent Musket by a team spokesperson.
The 23-year-old has been with Comunicaciones of native Guatemala since 2009, playing first with the youth teams before graduating to the first team in 2011. Since then, he has scored eight goals in 69 appearances, according to soccerway.com.
Ceballos also has international experience as he participated in the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup, a tournament in which he scored against Croatia. He has since made appearances for the full national team.
Ceballas is certainly an intriguing prospect for the Revolution, who have had recent success with young players. Reports indicate that Ceballos is capable of playing as both a midfielder and striker, which should make him a natural fit for the Revs setup. It is worth noting that the team already employs a wealth of talented attackers.
