The Revolution drafted Mark Segbers with the 9th overall pick in this year’s SuperDraft. But so far this season, fellow rookie Brandon Bye—drafted one spot before Segbers—has earned all the headlines.

That is, until this weekend.

Segbers went on loan to USL side Orange County SC in mid-March. And on Saturday, he scored twice to lift Orange County to a 3-0 win over LA Galaxy II.

The Wisconsin product opened his scoring account by slotting a shot through the wickets of LA Galaxy II keeper Eric Lopez. The finish, recorded in the 45th minute, gave Orange County a 1-0 lead just before the break.

Segbers scored again 13 minutes later on a left-footed curler that beat the outstretched arm of Lopez. Nigerian winger Nansel Selbol scored in the 88th minute to finish the rout.
