Did Sounders fans rip off Revolution fans?

Hmm, two tifos inspired by "Jaws." Coincidence?

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

Regardless of whether it's true or not, it's often stated that the fiercest rivalry in MLS is between the Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers. The history between the two Cascadia clubs dates back before their time in MLS and the animosity can certainly be seen in the actions of coaches, players, and fans.

A big part of building this rivalry has been the tifo that has been created over the years. There's been works of art inspired by club legends, the Beatles, and even the "Wizard of Oz."

On Sunday, Sounders fans released their latest creation, a tifo designed in the vein of "Jaws."

It's a creative idea, but one that looked pretty familiar to fans of the New England Revolution. Look for yourself.

Yes, the Foxboro faithful created a very similar tifo during last year's playoff game against Columbus Crew SC.

So what do you think? Did those in the Northwest rip off those in the Northeast? Who did it better? Let us know in the comments section below!
