That's right. Scott Caldwell. The tireless defensive midfielder scored his first professional goal, the fourth in an offensive explosion by the New England Revolution over a depleted Real Salt Lake side at Gillette Stadium.
The goal came after a beautiful sequence that probably should have resulted in a goal sooner. Diego Fagundez slipped Kelyn Rowe down the left into the box with a great little pass, and Rowe crossed to the penalty spot. Juan Agudelo caught and turned, laying off to Steve Neumann, who fired on goal. Jeff Attinella made a herculean stop at point blank to keep the ball out, though, and then saved the rebound from Agudelo.
Then the ball came to Caldwell. And then this:
