Kei Kamara has endured his share of criticism since joining the Revolution a year-and-a-half ago. In his first 38 games with the Revs, he scored 11 goals. Yet during his two-season stint with Columbus Crew SC, he scored once every one-and-a-half matches.
Fans have longed to see the Crew SC version of Kamara. And lately, that player has made himself known. In his past seven matches, Kamara has scored seven goals, highlighted by a hat-trick performance against Orlando City and a two-goal outing against the Philadelphia Union. The Sierra Leonean forward has seemingly found his form in Foxboro.
So, what does that mean for 2018 and beyond?
When the Revolution acquired Krisztian Nemeth, conventional wisdom said Kamara would ship out in the offseason; the thought of keeping Nemeth, Kamara, Juan Agudelo and Teal Bunbury seemed nonsensical. And it may be. But is Kamara the one to trade?
