The United States plays Ecuador tonight in the quarterfinals of the 2016 Copa America Centenario.
The Americans won Group A on a goal difference tiebreaker with Colombia and will play Group B runner up Ecuador after a shocking exit from Brazil gave Peru the top spot in that group.
The US defeated Ecuador 1-0 in a pre-tournament friendly thanks to the help of substitutes Darlington Nagbe and Christian Pulisic. This time the USMNT will have to deal with an offense that just put four goals past Haiti and might be in better form than two weeks ago. The USA will be without starting right back DeAndre Yedlin who was red carded in the American's last group game against Paraguay.
Ecuador will still lean on Enner and Antonio Valencia, but it might be left midfielder/winger Jeff Montero that could pose the most problems for the US defense. If Michael Orozco is the replacement in the starting lineup, look for Ecuador to attack down their left flank to take advantage of Montero's speed.
The winner of this game will play the winner of Argentina-Venezuela next week in Houston and the US has several players who could miss the match with a yellow card if they are booked in the quarters.
