It's official, the US Men's National Team will square off against Ecuador in the quarterfinals of the Copa America Centenario. The game will be played at CenturyLink Field on Thursday with kickoff set for 9:30PM ET.
The USMNT finished top of Group A after beating Costa Rica 4-0 and Paraguay 1-0. Colombia, who defeating the US 2-0 in the tournament's opener, was second in the group.
Ecuador took second in Group B after collecting two draws and a win. Their final placement is not without controversy, as Ecuador was denied a goal against Brazil. Although the referee ruled that the ball went out of bounds before beating goalkeeper Alisson, replays put the call in dispute.
The US most recently played Ecuador on May 25 in Frisco, TX. Darlington Nagbe was the difference maker that night, as the Portland Timbers midfielder scored in the 90th minute to give the US a 1-0 victory.
