As Revolution midfielder Tajon Buchanan and Team Canada continue to prepare for FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the 22-year-old Brampton, Ontario-native was recognized by Canada Soccer as he was named one of Canada Soccer’s Players of the Month for August. Olympic gold medalist Stephanie Labbé was a recipient of this award from Canada Soccer as well.

Labbé’s goalkeeping during the most recent Olympic games propelled the Canadian Women’s National team past the USWNT and to an eventual gold medal this summer in Tokyo.

Buchanan appeared in five matches for the Revs with four starts in August. With 376 minutes on the pitch, Buchanan would help the Revs see a 4-0-1 record when appearing with three goals and an assist to his name.

Buchanan and Team Canada are on the verge of clinching a spot in the upcoming World Cup as they prepare to return to qualifying action. Canada hosts Honduras tomorrow at 8:05 PM EST as they kickoff their octagonal run. Canada will also face off against the United States and El Salvador on September 5th and 8th.
