After months of speculation on the future of Canadian midfielder, a new report from Tom Bogert sheds some light on Buchanan’s future.

Last night, Kristian Dyer reported that a move for the 22-year-old midfielder was imminent as Club Brugge and SC Freiburg being the most likely destination.

According to Bogert, the Brampton, Ontario-native is headed to Club Brugge of the Belgian Pro League. Both New England and Brugge have “agreed in principle for a deal” on Buchanan. Although nothing has been made official, Bogert adds the deal could be worth as much as seven million dollars.

Bogert also states the deal with Brugge will keep him in New England for the remainder of the 2021 MLS season. A good sight for Revs fans as the team looks to make huge strides throughout the rest of the season and looks to hoist their first MLS Cup in franchise history.

Buchanan joined the Revolution after being selected with the 9th overall pick in the 2019 MLS Draft. Since then, Buchanan has made 50 appearances with 29 starts for the Revolution. With over 2,500 minutes, Buchanan has tallied an impressive six goals and seven assists.

Fret not Revolution fans. You can still watch Tajon Buchanan in Europe as ESPN+ has the streaming rights to Belgium Pro League matches.

UPDATE: According to TSN’s Matthew Scianitti, FC Augsburg and Brugge are competing for Buchanan
