After weeks of speculation on the futures of Tajon Buchanan and Matt Turner, another Revolution player’s name has sparked interest from European clubs.
On Wednesday afternoon, Ives Galarcep of SBI reported that Revolution fullback DeJuan Jones has “drawn interest from Bundesliga”. According to Galarcep, “a pair of German Bundesliga clubs have expressed interest in Jones.”
Galarcep added that Jones has drawn interest from clubs in Belgium and Greece as well. According to Galarcep, nothing has generated out of this interest, but expects clubs to start submitting offers “in the coming days”.
The pacy fullback was selected by the Revolution with the 11th overall pick in the 2019 SuperDraft. The Michigan State-alum has made 52 appearances for the Revs with 41 starts. Over 3626 minutes, the 24-year-old Jones has scored two goals and notched four assists.
Jones is under contract with the Revolution until 2023, with a team option for the Revs in 2022. With the newly discovered interest in the fullback, it will be interesting to see what DeJuan Jones’ future holds.
