Matt Turner selected for 2021 MLS All-Star Skills Challenge

The New England Revolution goalkeeper will get to show off his skills on the west coast.

There was no doubt that Matt Turner was going to be selected to the MLS All-Star Team but the goalkeeper has received another honor.

Fresh off of throwing a great first pitch at Fenway Park, Turner was selected to participate in the All-Star skills challenge. He will be the goalkeeper representing MLS in the cross and volley challenge. Turner is joined by Pedro Gallese of Orlando City in the skills challenge.

The cross and volley challenge seems to be the closest thing to the NBA’s Slam Dunk Competition. With players looking to connect with teammates, more style will lead to more points for your side.

Turner will have teammates watching him from the sidelines as Gustavo Bou, Carles Gil, and Tajon Buchanan were also selected to the All-Star squad.

The goalkeeper has been a wall for the Revolution. Without him it’s hard to think that New England would be at the top of the Eastern Conference standings. In 14 matches this season he has four clean sheets with a 75 percent save percentage.

Turner will be in net for the Revolution on Saturday when they face Toronto FC up north.
