Fisio Global Sport’s post was uploaded on Aug. 9 with a caption that translates to say, “A pleasure to spend the afternoon working with @CarlesGil92 and his trainer @jositocastro! Arrived directly from MLS Boston. Carles is a footballer with an incredible career, highlighting his passing through clubs like: Valencia, Elche, Aston Villa, or Deportivo. Grateful for the trust placed in us. See you forever friends.”
On Aug. 3, The Bent Musket reported that Gil would miss 3+ weeks with a sports hernia. The club has been quiet about Gil’s injury despite receiving several questions from the media.
On Aug. 11, head coach and sporting director Bruce Arena said, “Don’t have a timetable yet, but he continues his rehab.”
When asked if Gil is still training to the side, Arena said, “Let me just mention this to everyone here – the press conference is for the game against Toronto. Carles Gil has a muscle injury and he’s rehabbing it.”
