As Tajon Buchanan continues to prepare for upcoming World Cup Qualifiers with Team Canada, new rumors have surfaced regarding the 22-year-olds future with the New England Revolution.
TSN reporter Matthew Scianitti took to Twitter early Friday evening to talk about offers the Revs have received for Buchanan. According to Scinitti’s report, “a French and a Dutch team have tabled multi-million dollar offers.” Scianitti also mentioned how those two offers may not be all as he also noted that “two Bundesliga teams are close to making offers too.”
With two multi-million dollar offers on the table with the opportunity for more to come in, some tough decisions will be made by the Revolution regarding Buchanan’s future with the club.
Since being selected by the Revs with the ninth overall pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft, Buchanan has continued to improve his game and has become a key factor in the Revolution’s offense. Throughout three seasons with New England, Buchanan has made 41 appearances where he clocked in over 1,900 minutes along with three goals and five assists.
Buchanan also had a good string of appearances during the Revolutions 2020 playoff run which saw Buchanan make a total of four starts where he clocked in 276 minutes and scored one goal.
The Revolution have some time to think everything over as the next MLS transfer window does not open until July 7th and runs through August 5th.
As the Revs aspire to hoist an MLS Cup, it is unclear if the Buchanan transfer rumors will turn into a reality. One has to think Bruce Arena will look to keep the band together after a hot start to the 2021 season and will look to fulfill the Revs aspiration to hoist their first MLS Cup.
Yet if the offer is too good to pass up, we could see Tajon’s time with the Revolution come to an end.
