Saturday ended up being a great night for the New England Revolution. They secured a 3-1 win victory and kept their place atop the Eastern Conference. While it was a team effort Gustavo Bou deserves some credit.

Bou scored the first goal of the game for New England while also tallying an assist on Adam Buksa’s goal that put the final nail in the coffin. The assist might be even more impressive because Bou could have gone for goal but made the smart play and laid the ball off to Buksa.

It appears that people outside New England were paying attention as the 31-year-old was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 6.

Bou wasn’t the only Revolution player to make the squad. With his two assists, Arnór Traustason was also named to the bench.

So while the Revolution didn’t get off to the best start, it’s clear that they got some great performances in the victory over NYRB.
