Adam Buksa will be ready for the MLS playoffs, according to head coach Bruce Arena.

Media officer for the Polish Football Association Jakub Kwiatkowski caused a stir on Nov. 2 when he tweeted that Buksa suffered a fracture of the third metatarsal. MLSSoccer.com’s Tom Bogart eased concerns by saying Buksa would be ready for postseason soccer.

Arena provided confirmation after Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Miami CF, clearly stating, “Adam will be ready for the playoffs.”

Teal Bunbury paired with Gustavo Bou as the strikers for the regular season finale. Bunbury was active during his 60 minutes before making way for Arnor Traustason.

“Teal came in, he’s a little bit of a different player, but I think Teal did really well,” Tommy McNamara said. “He worked really hard. He gives us a physical presence as well. It is what it is, but it’s been like that all year – next man up. We’ve been successful with that and I thought tonight, Teal did a good job.”

Arena noted that Buksa’s absence was “not a reason why we lost the game.” Still, the team will surely be happy to have their 2021 Golden Boot winner back on the field as they hunt for the MLS Cup.

Adam [Buksa] is a special player,” Tommy McNamara commented. “Of course, he’s done really well for us this season with his goals, with his leading the line for us.”
