As the Revolution II prepare for their inaugural season, a few additions have been made to the Revolution’s USL side.
The first set of additions to Revs II came on March 3rd when 3 players were signed to the club.
Simon Lekressner, who spent four years at the University of California, was selected by the Revs with the 30th pick in the 2020 SuperDraft. Lekressner will join the USL side after accumulating 180 minutes over 3 appearances during the 2020 preseason with the Revs. He also played 45 minutes during a friendly with the University of Portland.
Oskar Bloch joins Revs II from Denmark’s Akademisk Boldklub. The 19-year-old defender made 13 appearances for Akademisk Boldklub, 11 of which he played a full 90 minutes, and included 3 clean sheets. Bloch entered the FC Midtjylland Academy where he represented the club on their U-19 team during the Danish and UEFA Youth Leagues during for the 2018-19 season.
Joe Rice, a 23-year-old goalkeeper, comes to Revs II from the USL League One side Richmond Kickers. Rice made 3 appearances with 2 starts during the USL League One’s inaugural season. Prior to joining the Kickers, Rice played in the Premier Development League, which is now the USL League Two. During his time in the PDL, Rice made a total of 12 appearances.
On March 11th the club announced the signing of academy alum Dennis Ramirez. The 18-year-old joined the Revolution academy in 2018 and has made 33 appearances for the Revs academy with 30 starts. So far, Ramirez has made appearances in all four Revs II preseason matches which included two starts.
With these four signings, the total number of signed players rises to 15 for the first year team. Clint Peay and the Revs II continue to prepare for upcoming scrimmages and their March 28th opener.
