The New England Revolution return to action Saturday as they host Major League Soccer newcomer Nashville S.C. at Gillette Stadium.
Bruce Arena and crew come into Saturday’s match after extending their win streak to two after a 2-0 victory over D.C. United with the help of DPs Gustavo Bou and Adam Buksa.
On the other hand, Nashville S.C. comes into Saturday’s match after playing to a 1-1 draw with the Houston Dynamo.
As the Revolution prepare for the final slate of the 2020 regular season, Bruce Arena took time to discuss how crucial these upcoming games are for the Revolution. Arena stated, “They’re all important … so every game is important… The games are meaningful. Everyone is jockeying for playoff positions.”.
The Revolution will be without defender Alexander Büttner along with midfielders Carles Gil, Luis Caicedo, and Matt Polster will be unavailable for Saturday’s match as they heal from their respective injuries.
Nashville S.C. comes into Saturday’s match dealing with a laundry list of injuries. Nashville will be without Dominique Badji, Daniel Ríos, David Accam, Abu Danladi, Alex Muyl, Jimmy Medranda, Ken Tribbett on Saturday.

Bring on the false 9! (i.e. Mukhtar/Derrick Jones)
One player who we could see take the pitch for Nashville on Saturday is none other than former Revolution defender Jalil Anibaba! Revs fans will remember Anibaba joining the club back in February of 2018. Over his two seasons in New England, Anibaba appeared in 53 matches with 48 starts along with one goal and three assists! Although only in New England for a brief time, Anibaba became a fan favorite across New England. Saturday’s match will be the first time Anibaba will see the Revolution after being selected by Nashville in the 2019 MLS Expansion Draft.
Over the past few games, the Revolution forward attack has truly flourished. When talking about the forward’s chemistry, Tajon Buchanan said “I think it’s huge. Once your teammates and your coaches kind of give you that confidence to go out and do what you do best, … once they believe in you, you have the confidence to perform at your best and hopefully I can just keep going and play to my capability.”.
Let’s hope this newly energized Revolution offense can continue their streak of good performances on Saturday and throughout the remainder of the 2020 regular season!
Saturday’s match against Nashville S.C. is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 PM EST. Fans can tune in to NBC Sports Boston for television coverage, or 98.5 The Sports Hub and Nossa Radio USA for radio coverage!
Remember to check back after Saturday night’s game for a post-game recap and all the latest Revolution news!
