As the 2020 campaign comes to an end for Clint Peay and the New England Revolution II, it’s time to reflect on the team’s inaugural season.

After the COVID-19 pandemic pushed back the start of the USL League One season, the Revolution II played their inaugural game on July 25th, where they played to a 0-0 draw against Union Omaha.

The Revs II would struggle to find their first win as they suffered a 2-0 loss to Orlando City B, a 3-3 draw against North Texas, and a 2-1 loss to the Richmond Kickers.

Club history was made on August 26th when Ryo Shimazaki’s 57th-minute goal gave Revs II a 1-0 win over the Greenville Triumph!

The Revolution II would end their 2020 campaign with a 5-8-3 record, finishing 9th place with 18 points.

The Revolution II’s offense was primarily dominated by first-team members Nicolas Firmino and Justin Rennicks as the duo combined for eight goals and three assists!

We also saw goals from Isaac Angking, Damien Rivera, Orlando Sinclair, Ryo Shimazaki, Maylee Malanog, Ryan Spaulding, and Tiago Mendonca!

It was also good to see a wide variety of players assist in the Revs II offensive production. Sinclair, Spaulding, Firmino, and Mendonca all tied for a team-leading two assists, while Rennicks, Fujiwara, Quinones, Rivera, Malango, and Presley all notched an assist throughout the 2020 campaign!

Several players were also able to rack up 1,000+ minutes throughout the 2020 season. Maciel led the team with a total of 1,414 minutes played. Firmino, Bell, Verfurth, Spaulding, Quinones, Presley, Sinclair, and Mendonca all reached the 1,000-minute mark in 2020!

After a promising 2020 season has come to an end, coaches, players, and fans now wait eagerly for the 2020 USL League One season!
