It has been a while since Revolution fans have seen Gustavo Bou play, but it seems like he will be coming back sooner rather than later.
The last game that Bou appeared in was back on October 14th when New England defeated the Montreal Impact 3-2. Bou played for 18 minutes and was subbed off near the end of the game.
But Bou hasn’t started a game since the beginning of the month. With the playoffs rapidly approaching the Revolution need a healthy Bou.
Bou can be a game-changer when he is on the field. He’s dangerous in the final third with five goals so far this season.
Bou just has that extra gear. When the club needs a goal Bou can provide it.
Now since Bou has been absent for so long it can get fans rather nervous, but Bruce Arena stressed after the game that Bou won’t be out for much longer when asked if he could start in New England’s next matchup.
He said. “It’s possible. He’s going to be back soon. He’s been handled very delicately. His injury is a minor one and when he comes back, he will be coming back at 100 percent.”
It makes sense that New England is taking its time. It’s more important for Bou to be at 100 percent in the playoffs than for him to play in these final games.
With Carles Gil making his return, having Bou back will give the Revolution a chance in the playoffs. They will have all of their Designated Players and should perform up to their potential.
That’s what Revolution fans were hoping to see this season. They wanted to see what New England could do with a full season of Bou and Gil together but due to injuries they have been robbed of that since the MLS is Back tournament.
So stay patient Revolution fans, Gustavo Bou will be back soon enough and he will be alongside Carles Gil.
