It didn’t take long for Gustavo Bou to make an impact, as the former Tijuana man scored a peach of a goal in his debut.
Although he lined up on the left at the start of Wednesday’s game against the Vancouver Whitecaps, Bou roamed around in search of space. He looked comfortable on the ball as he tried to link up with his new teammates.
His best moment came just before halftime when he hit a picturesque volley that’s sure to make highlight reels around the globe.
Oh, so that's why they signed Gustavo Bou. What a hit. #NERevs #NEvVAN pic.twitter.com/Bu1ZBlWmja

The center referee took a moment before pointing to the center spot to make the goal official. With that, the home team entered the locker room with a 1-0 lead.
Bruce Arena was asked about the goal at halftime and he answered with the type of snark we’ve come to expect, saying, “I taught him that yesterday in training.” Bou, of course, has only been with the Revs for a few days.
