It didn’t take long for Brian Wright to make an impact in the USL Championship.
In just his second game with Birmingham Legion FC, Wright recorded a goal and assist while playing against Louisville City SC. The helper came in the 36th minute when he found Chandler Hoffman. In the 87th minute, Wright scored the game-winner to give Birmingham their first victory in club history.

Wright’s contributions earned him a place on the USL Championship Team of the Week. More impressive was the fact that he finished second in the Player of the Week voting with 25 percent of the vote. The title ultimately went to Colorado Switchback FC goalkeeper Abraham Rodriguez, a 16-year-old who made 11 saves in his professional debut against Phoenix Rising FC.
Wright is currently on loan to Birmingham along with Zachary Herivaux. Both players started in Saturday’s 3-2 win. Wright and Herivaux can be recalled at any time.
