The New England Revolution are on the mend,

As many Revs fans know, defender Michael Mancienne sustained what appeared to be a lower back injury in warm ups prior to last Saturday’s season opener against F.C. Dallas. The hope is that he’s not out for long.

Early this week, head coach Brad Friedel gave an update on Mancienne’s condition, saying, “He’s day-to-day.” Mancienne was able to return to practice.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the only injury affecting the Revolution at the moment. The Revs are also without Juan Fernando Caicedo and Andrew Farrell.

Like Mancienne, J. Caicedo is listed as day-to-day. Friedel noted, “Juan Fernando Caicedo is day to day. We’ll see how his fitness comes along”. It’s unclear whether J. Caicedo will make his Revs debut in Foxboro this Saturday.

Last but not least, there’s Farrell. Farrell has been sidelined with an eye injury. He missed the second leg of the Revs preseason action in Florida. On Saturday’s broadcast, commentator Brad Feldman revealed that Farrell could be out until April.

Friedel was a bit more coy about the situation, saying, “Andrew Ferrell, again you’ll have to speak to the medical side of things. We’re waiting on the eye doctor to give us a go ahead. So I don’t yet have a date for Andrew”.

The Revs are currently preparing to play in front of New England faithful on Saturday which is when they host Columbus Crew S.C.
