Revolution 2, Orlando 6: Revs get chewed up by the Lions

It was a bad night for the Revolution

You never want to see your team concede six goals, even if its preseason. Unfortunately for fans of the New England Revolution, that’s exactly what their team did on Wednesday. In their final game of the Orlando City Invitational, the Revs lost 6-2 to the tournament’s host.

Orlando City SC scored their first in the 29th minute when Uri Rossell beat Matt Turner from the spot. Three minutes later, Rossell was causing problems again, this time forcing a own goal out of Brandon Bye.

The Revs made one change at halftime, inserting Scott Caldwell for Diego Fagundez. The move did little to alter the flow of the game, as Orlando scored in 47th, 49th, 51th, and 56th minutes. The goal scorers were Josué Colmán, Santiago Patiño, Cristian Higuita, and Dillon Powers.

The Revs did get a pair of consolation goals, both of which came through Teal Bunbury. The hard-working striker found the back of the net in the 81st and 90th minute.

Revolution fans will have the opportunity to see their team play on Saturday, as there will be a stream for the game against Icelandic side KR Reykjavik. Kickoff is set for 3 pm.
