Turner named to USMNT January camp

Matt Turner earns his second USMNT call up

MLS: New York City FC at New England Revolution Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

On Monday December 30th, USMNT head coach Greg Berhalter announced his 25-man roster for the upcoming January camps. These upcoming camps will start the men’s national team training and preparation for the upcoming Nations League and 2020 World Cup Qualifiers.

Amongst big names like Gyasi Zardes, Sebastian Lletget, Aaron Long, and Bill Hamid, Revs fans will be familiar with one name on that list. That name is Matt Turner. The 25-year-old goalkeeper from Park Ridge, New Jersey earns his second call up to the U.S. Men’s National Team Camp.

Revs fans will remember when Turner was named to the Nations League squad back in November. Although he was not able to see any playing time, Turner noted how thankful he was for the knowledge he learned along with the experience.

The squad will be in Qatar from January 5th to January 25th. They will then return to Los Angeles where they will face off against Costa Rica on February 1st.

Let’s hope that Turner will be able to capitalize on this opportunity and will be able to learn from this experience. On behalf of the entire Bent Musket staff, we wish Matt the best of luck!
