We all say things online that we aren’t planning to follow through on. That wasn’t the case for New England Revolution fan Mike McColgan, who got a tattoo after his team made an amazing comeback.

The Revs were down 2-0 to the Portland Timbers on Sept. 26 when McColgan made his bold promise. The possibility of ink grew when Gustavo Bou scored in the 87th minute. It became real when Carles Gil got the equalizer by converting from the spot during stoppage time.

The Revs got a point, which meant McColgan was getting a tattoo.

Of course he could’ve backed out, but McColgan saw this as a omen to get something he always wanted.

McColgan, who resides in Florida, went to Classic Tattoos in Jacksonville to get the work done. Artist Derek Farrow was was super excited for the task ahead.

The final product was something that made all parties happy.
