The New England Revolution announced on Tuesday that they will participate in the inaugural Orlando City Invitational.
The preseason tournament will consist of the Revs and three other MLS clubs (Minnesota United, New York City FC, and Orlando City). The Revs will have two matches in Orlando. They will first face Minnesota United on Feb. 16 before going toe to toe with Orlando City SC on Feb. 20.
The scoring system for the tournament is the same as the one used in the MLS. Three points will be awarded for a win, one point for a draw, and zero points for a loss. The club with the most points will receive a trophy.
This preseason tournament will allow the Revolution to scout two Eastern Conference opponents and one from the Western Conference. It will also give the Revs a chance to look over their squad as they prepare for the 2019 season.
