The ball in Times Square wasn’t the only thing that dropped on Jan. 1, as the New England Revolution released their new secondary kits at midnight.
The new shirt, which has been nicknamed “The Colonial,” debuted in a video that features a time lapse of Revolutionary War style drawings along with current Revolution players. The video then shows midfielder Scott Caldwell wearing the new kit.

Overall, the kits provide a simple yet professional look for the Revs as they enter the 2019 MLS season. They feature a solid white base in the middle that’s accented by light blue on the sleeves and sides of the kit. They also have three blue stripes on the shoulders.

The new design is a departure from past looks, as the Revs have had red secondary kits in recent years. The shirt does keep with the tradition of honoring New England heritage.
