The Bent Musket Predicts: Revolution at Union (third edition)

Can New England finally beat Philadelphia and grab a desperately-needed three points?

MLS: Philadelphia Union at New England Revolution Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

New England lost to the Union in Week 1 after being reduced to 10 men, and then lost again at home due to three set piece goals despite outplaying their rivals from the City of Brotherly Love. Will the third time against Philadelphia be the charm? The Revs’ playoff lives likely depend upon a full three points.

Here is what our panel of experts thinks will occur on Saturday in Chester, PA:

Seth: Union 2, Revs 1

Comment: I was really impressed by the Union’s tactics when they visited two weeks ago, which is why I’m predicting a Revs loss. The Revs desperately need a win to get back into the playoff picture, but the Union, who are traditionally good at home, are on the rise.

Tony: Union 1 Revs 1

Comment: New England deserved better two weeks ago at Gillette when their set-piece defending let them down in a 3-2 loss to the Union. It was much better last week vs DC United. Philly is decent, but they aren’t great. I can’t see the Revs winning, but I think the they can snatch a point. I just don’t know what their mental state is right now.

Sean: Revs 2 Union 1

Comment: None

Summary

NE win: 1

PHI win: 1

Draw: 1
