Mancienne, 30, signed with the Revs on Aug. 3, leaving Nottingham Forest on a free transfer. Capable of playing anywhere along the backline, Mancienne will most likely be used as a center back. Since he’s donned the captain’s armband in the past, it’s reasonable to think that he’ll also be leaned on to provide some sort of leadership.
If all goes to plan, Mancienne will have two training sessions before the Revs travel to Audi Field to face D.C. United. Depending on his fitness, Mancienne could make his debut in the nation’s capital on national television. It’s also possible that the team will wait until next weekend’s affair against the Philadelphia Union.
