Things weren’t going all that well for the New England Revolution in the first half. Columbus Crew SC had scored two goals including one in the 43rd minute to go ahead 2-1 as the match entered first half stoppage time.
Then Claude Dielna attacked a clearance and headed the ball forward where Juan Agudelo did his second juggling act of the game:

...and Penilla applies the finish. 2-2. #CLBvNE https://t.co/YRo3vMcyJT
Agudelo nicked the ball of Crew defender Jonathan Campbell before a juggling act and half volley pass to a wide open Cristian Penilla equalized the match with a one-time finish. It was Penilla’s second goal of the 2018 season.
Here’s a slightly more zoomed in version courtesy of Jason Foster:
Individual brilliance by both Juan Agudelo and Cristian Penilla to get the #NERevs equalizer right on the stroke of half-time. Superb touch and skill by Agudelo, great first-time finish by Penilla. #CLBvNE #MLS pic.twitter.com/NrmANYRHdX

Penilla’s first goal, a close range blast in Houston a few weeks ago, earned him a spot on Ale Moreno’s weekly MLS Awards video clip on ESPN. Here’s hoping this combination from Agudelo and Penilla is worthy of praise once again because it is filthy good.
We’ll have a full recap after the game, the Revs and Crew are currently at the half tied 2-2.
