The New England Revolution have hired Sergio Neveleff as an international scout.
Neveleff, who is the brother of Revolution assistant coach Marcelo Neveleff, is the team’s second scout, as Remi Roy was named the Director of Scouting and and Player Personnel in January 2018. Roy had previously been an assistant coach with the Revolution.
The hiring of Neveleff was first reported by Frank Dell’Apa of the New England Soccer Journal. The news can be confirmed by Neveleff’s LinkedIn profile, which states that he’s been in the position since October 2018.
On his LinkedIn page, Neveleff describes his new role. It reads: “Responsible not only for the identification of talents but also to understand the entire profile and the potential of each athlete in the market in order to identify players who can be inserted in an optimal way (from the personal, sporting as attitudinal) into our club.”
The Revolution are currently hard at work preparing for the 2019 season. The first day of training camp is scheduled for Jan. 21.
