The New England Revolution have signed three players this off-season and they should’ve had at least one more, according to club president Brian Bilello.

On Tuesday, Bilello stated that the team made a $3 million transfer offer to a young Designated Player in December. The unknown 18-year-old decided not to come to America and instead stayed in Europe.

Bilello did give some positive news, stating that the team could announce a DP/TAM player in the next two weeks. This all depends on how the medical examination goes.

The club president didn’t provide any hints as to who this mystery player is or what position he plays, but he did say that the team is open to bringing players in on loan. This strategy has been a mixed bag in the past, working extremely well in the case of Jose Goncalves and not so well with Sambinha and Benjamin Angoua.

What do you think of Bilello’s comments? Are you disappointed to hear that the team’s young DP offer was rejected? Are you excited about what’s to come? Let us know if the comments section below.
