Lee Nguyen is one of the hottest players in MLS and now you can look back on his rise to stardom by watching his documentary.
In NGUYENing: The Lee Nguyen Story, director Alfonso Bui tells the story of how a Vietnamese-American from Texas broke into the soccer world despite his small stature. The film covers Nguyen’s time with PSV Eindhoven, move to Vietnam, and eventual return to the United States. Along the way, viewers hear from Nguyen’s close friends and family, as well as the player himself.
Nguyen has accomplished a lot in his 12-year career, including nine caps with the U.S. National Team and an MLS MVP nomination. All of his accolades can be attributed to his no-quit attitude.
While watching the documentary, New England Revolution fans can’t help but wonder what Nguyen’s legacy will be. Players like Taylor Twellman, Steve Ralston, and Shalrie Joseph are clearly club legends. Does Nguyen fit in that category? That’s up for the viewer to decide.
Regardless of where you stand, Revs fans are sure to enjoy the 22-minute documentary.
