Kelyn Rowe and Juan Agudelo named to USMNT Gold Cup roster

Kelyn Rowe and Juan Agudelo have been called up to the US Men's National Team ahead of this summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Agudelo and Rowe will travel to Nashville, Tenn., for training camp on Sunday, June 25. The duo will then return to the Northeast for a warm-up friendly against Ghana on July 1 in East Hartford, Conn. The USMNT begin Gold Cup group play on July 8 when they face Panama in Nashville, Tenn. They then play Martinique on July 12 in Tampa Bay, Fla. and Nicaragua on July 15 in Cleveland, Ohio.

This is Rowe’s first call-up to the USMNT’s senior squad after previously representing his country at the U-18, U-20, and U-23 levels. The Washington native has been a driving force the New England Revolution since being drafted third overall in the 2012 SuperDraft. Rowe has recorded four assists in 17 appearances this season.

This is Agudelo’s second time participating in the Gold Cup as he took part in the 2011 tournament. The striker has 23 career caps, most recently starting in a friendly against Jamaica on Feb. 3, 2017. Agudelo has seven goals for the Revs this season through 15 appearances.

Rowe and Agudelo are expected to miss the Revolution's games against Philadelphia on July 2 and New York on July 5. The could also miss the July 22 game against the LA Galaxy if the USMNT advances to the semifinal round.
